To be honest, let’s face reality.
Back in like the 1960’s, America was racist. We were judgmental against race and treated colored people unfairly.
Finally, a time came where we set aside that ignorance and came to accept them as they are - a person.
Back then, we also were non-accepting of gay love. We thought of it as appalling and wrong.
Finally, a time came where we set aside that ignorance and respected people’s choices for whoever they wanted to love, no matter their gender.
Today, we are still ignorant.
We’ve come a long way, we’ve gotten over judging race, and judging gender.
But we still judge age difference.
In reality, being a different skin tone never defined a person’s character. Being a certain gender never defined a person’s character. But for some reason, for the time being, being a certain “age” is enough to judge someone’s character?
There are married couples who are 20, even 30 years apart. And they’re perfectly happy. There’s no wrongness in that, is there?
I know for a fact, soon America will overcome prejudice over age. The time isn’t now, but one day it will happen, just like how racism and homophobia ended.
It sickens me seeing the ignorance in people when they say it’s not love. If there are mutual feelings between one person and another, it is real. There is no “wrongness”.
As the world progresses, we learn to accept people for who they are more and more each day. We’re on our way to a more accepting and understanding society, and I believe in this.
